Nicks fick hela åtta valpar den 8 januari. Vi var förvånade över både tidpunkten (dag 62) och storleken på kullen eftersom vi trodde att parningen var lite för tidig. Jätteroligt med så många valpar – fyra hanar och fyra tikar. Alla utan en hane verkar vara trefärgade. Valparna föddes hemma hos fodervärden Lena och kommer att flytta hem till oss ihop med sin mamma Nicks när de är lite äldre.

Vi tror mycket på den här kombinationen och det finns möjlighet att höra av sig till klickerklok@gmail.com om man är intresserad av en lovande vallhundsvalp.

Thomas och jag hade sedan länge planerat en resa till Skottland tillsammans. Det är så sällan vi reser ihop eftersom det kräver en viss logistik för att fixa hundvakter, fårvakter och koordinera med jobb och tävlingar. Planen var lite allmänt semestrande, men också – så klart – hundträning. Ale började löpa precis lite för tidigt för att följa med på resan. Annars hade det ju varit roligt att para henne där, men som tur var hade vi ett mycket bra alternativ på hemmaplan. Ales fodervärd Minou såg till att Ale blev parad med Jörgen Olssons Glan y Gors Mirk (en ung hane från Wales efter Treflys Glen) medan vi satt i bilen genom Tyskland på väg till färjan. Förhoppningsvis är hon dräktig och valpar väntas runt nyår.

Nicks började löpa precis dagarna innan vi hade tänkt åka. Hur skulle vi göra nu? Planen var ju att hon skulle paras med Bud, men skulle vi ta med henne och para henne i Storbritannien istället? Eller lämna Bud i Småland på något sätt? Vi bestämde oss för att ta med henne på resan och se vad som hände. Precis innan det var dags att åka hem fick vi till en parning med Emma Grays Tweeddale Jamie – pappa till Ales valpkull från tidigare i år. Vi gillar honom skarpt och är hittills väldigt nöjda med den första kullen. Nicks parades en gång precis i början av höglöpet – våra hanar var nog mer intresserade på väg hem – men vi hoppas att det räcker och att hon kan få sin första kull i början på januari.

Resan var i övrigt jättehärlig, trots att det är så långt att köra. Skottland i november kändes som en lite smådålig idé när man sa det högt, men när vi väl var där kändes det inte alls så. Vi hade tur med vädret och fick uppleva fantastisk natur i höstskrud. Skottland var så mycket vackrare än jag hade trott, och då har vi ju bara sett en liten del av landet. Vi fick också till jättebra träning! Först ett par dagar i Lancashire (England), sedan hos Elinore i Skottland och till slut i Nortumberland (England) hos Emma.

Fay och Volts valpar blir tre veckor gamla idag och de här bilderna är från i helgen. De har flyttat ihop med Ales valpar i en valphage i vinterträdgården och har nästan helt kommit ikapp Ales valpar i storlek (en del har faktiskt gått förbi i storlek) och koordination trots att de är fem dagar yngre.

Ale och Jamies valpar har blivit tre veckor gamla och har flyttat till större utrymme på nedervåningen, numera ihop med Fays valpar i ett litet valpkollektiv. De har också varit ute för första gången, och senare idag blir det dags för första smakprovet på kött.

Ales valpar blev en vecka i torsdags och Fays valpar blir en vecka gamla imorgon. Tyvärr fick vi ta bort en av hanvalparna i Fays kull eftersom han hade en kraftig gomspalt 🙁 De andra mår strålande och växer så det knakar.
